Aluminum DC Bullet Mold

Description

This is a double cavity gas check mold.  If you need to learn more about LBT molds I would recommend you check out their web site.  Lots of info and I learned quite a bit there.  At first glance I thought the sprue cutoff plate looked a little cheap.  However, when test casting I learned it works better than my other molds by having a better system to hold both the pivot corner and the opposite corner snug to the mold blocks yet without being hard to swing either way.  It also serves as a catch to hold it in place when casting.  Mounted in the handles (not included) I could not see any light between the halves, except where they machined three small groves.  You can see them in the main photo, left side.  I'm sure the mold was still not completely warmed up, but I was getting good bullets after casting 15-20 pair.  It looks like LBT molds are very well made and work well, similar to NEI molds.  This is not one of the cheaper grade aluminum molds.  The bullets measure a trifle over .225 dia. and weigh 43.8 gr.s as I cast them with my lead supply and techniques.
I say 2 days to ship, but it's usually a few hours after I know the funds are secure.
