Korean War Era U.S. M5 Bayonet J&D Tool Co. + WWII Scabbard for M1 Garand

Description

U.S. M5 Bayonet with Scabbard.  Bayonet measures 11-1/4" overall with a blade length of 6-1/2".  Very good with light wiggle on cross-guard, blade in nice shape with fading parkerized finish.  Grips show no cracks, the right grip does show small white dots, that look when someone was painting with a paint gun, not major, but you can see it in the checkered area and sides.  The other grip looks fine. The press stud works great.  The scabbard is a WWII Sheath marked, "USM8/B.M.CO.".  The body is covered with black electrical tape, not sure if it's cracked underneath, but I can see the edge point and it's chipped.  The rest feels smooth and flat. Top of cross-guard marked,
"U.S. M5 J&D Tool Co."  with the D.O.D. cartouche on the end.  See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
